I always have two or more passions/hobbies and I can tell about 3 of them right now. I’ve revealed a little bit about them in my blog, so here they are:
I’ve always used such simple tools as sharpening, brightening, contrast settings, and light/dark settings, but I’ve always wanted to be able to really transform pictures, and finally several months ago I’ve installed Photoshop on my laptop and started learning.
Here’s an example of my simple dodging and burning exercise I did for my post about Witcher 3 and Yennefer before vs after (you can click on it to enlarge the image in a new tab):
This passion influences my blogging a bit, but that wasn’t why I started learning about it. In fact, at one point my hard disc glitched and I almost lost half of my precious photos. I was able to recover the data, but some of the pictures were partially damaged. This is why I decided to learn photo editing in the first place, but now it’s grown into a real art practice. I love how subtle details can completely change the look of the picture, and especially the mood of the picture. Knowing photo editing means that I’m able to help someone restore pictures if they were damaged or out of focus or whatever else.
2.Baking & making healthy sweets
I love baking for some reason much more than just cooking. It’s like meditation practice to me – I get to focus on the ingredients and the process, while my mind wanders. I love experimenting with ingredients, search out the best recipes and unusual combinations. Through elimination diet I’ve discovered that gluten and sugar are some of the worst food ingredients for me, so I don’t eat that much of what I bake, but can’t say my family is complaining about this hobby of mine 😂
My blog isn’t about cooking or baking, but I’ve shared one of my favorite recipes – a peek into my baking passion, so if you’ve been reading my posts, you might have known about this hobby already. As for making healthy sweets, I’ve started making them after discovering my sugar & gluten sensitivity. It is one of the ways I keep myself and my family healthy – pastry is good only in moderation. Maybe in the future I’ll share my favorite recipes for healthy sweets too.
3.Pilates & yoga
For me, doing pilates and yoga is an ongoing passion. I’ve started doing yoga only recently, but pilates I’ve been doing for years. I love the serotonin boost after doing workouts and I have a set of various resistance bands and weights at home. With these exercises my goal isn’t to achieve a certain look, but to be healthy long-term. My another goal is to spread awareness about exercises in my family and encourage them to workout regularly as well.
Same as lovely Sheree, I am Tagging anyone who’s read this post and would like to join in!
I would absolutely LOVE to read about your hobbies and passions – all your blogs are a source of continuous inspiration for me, so please feel free to complete this Tag #Share Your Passion ❤️
